Rescue Me ID: 14-09-18-00581Jenny (female)

Schnauzer    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This is one of our puppy mill dogs, the first to be added for adoption. (see our fb page). Jenny is so shut down; she just lays or sits and is very quiet and calm. She does occasionally wag her tail. Jenny needs an extremely patient home with someone who can take training very slowly and appreciate every little bit of progress. These puppy mill dogs will most likely take months or years to make progress; they do not know human touch and love. Jenny has little to no emotion right now, except for sadness - you can see it in her eyes. To her, the world is a painful place where you are in constant discomfort Jenny was pictured on our fb ... (Read More)page with the ear canals that were totally swollen shut because of infection. Her uterus was so filled with scar tissue from past pregnancies that it had adhered to her colon and of course, she had a raging uterine infection. Jenny is about 4 to 5 years old and is fully vetted and healthy now. We would prefer a home with Schnauzer experience and someone who has the time and patience to see this dog through. No children, large dogs, cats - no exceptions. Please only apply unless you plan on a life long commitment with no reservations. Visit resqac.com for more info and pics. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-18-00777Parking Lot Patty (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Patty is a sweet-natured Manchester mix who seems to fit in everywhere. She is about 10 mos. old, friendly and happy go lucky. Patty weighs 8 lbs. and is about 11 mos. old. This is a story from Patty's rescuer, Jim: Parking Lot Patty has a story that started out sad, but has gotten remarkably happier in a short time, and is going to end with her being 'Perfectly Loved Patty'! Patty was seen being dumped by her scum-bag former owners, at 11pm on a Saturday night in a grocery store parking lot. When I went to the store shopping early Sunday morning I saw clearly anxious, depressed and scared Patty wondering around that parking lot. Most ... (Read More)of you have probably seen that sad scene with lost dogs wandering the street. Store employees told me about her and it was clear she needed to be Rescued! This is where the story turns much happier. With the help of a wonderful young lady (Patty), working at the store, we caught our little scared girl and I took her to the Stockton Animal Shelter. She was named Patty in honor of the wonderful lady 'Patty' that did so much to catch her! A few days later, our little Patty found herself the star of our bi-weekly Mega 100 Radio Program with Tony Bear! And, today, Patty got transported to the fantastic ResQ Animal Coalition in Redding (along with 10 other Stockton dogs!)'|and we're sure Patty and all those dogs will be placed in great forever homes, by the Rescue. So, a very happy ending is on the horizon for Patty! please visit resqaac.com for more info and pics. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-06-01-00473Kisses (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Kisses is an absolutely adorable, happy go lucky little girl. She loves people, kids, other dogs, and would probably accept a cat too. She is a 6 month old playful puppy so would like a doggie playmate who could keep her busy and run. She is gorgeous too; she has that deer chihuahua look, like a little fawn and has a beautiful black v on her back. Kisses weighs about 9 to 10 lbs, is very sturdy. She is respectful and submissive with other dogs. Our ideal choice for a home for Kisses would be with another young dog to play with, older, respectful kids and a stay at home mom or dad or at least someone who was home most of the day. ... Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mortimer is a very unusual Yorkie mix boy. He has a sort of dapple coloring, as you can see from his photos - we took some pics of his back so you could see. He is a very sweet boy, gets along well with most other dogs ( prefers females) and is friendly and happy. Morty was surrendered by his owner who could no longer take care of him. He weighs about 9 lbs., and is about 2 to 3 years old. As with most rescue/shelter dogs, he or she may or may not be housebroken, or at the least need a readjustment /re-training period. If you are not able or willing to retrain a dog with housebreaking in a gentle, repetitious manner please DO NOT ... (Read More)APPLY. NEW DOGS REQUIRE SPECIAL HANDLING, TIME and CARE. Rescue Me ID: 14-05-17-00089Maggie (female)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed

This one year old, 10 lb. little yorkie mix is as sweet as can be. Emmie is very mellow, but playful when you want to play. She's kind of bashful at first but then when she realizes you are her friend, her sweet personality comes out. She would make a wonderful companion for a quiet home but probably would do well with older, considerate kids as well. Those ears are just too precious! Maggie does not like to be left alone in a backyard; she can easily climb chain link or wire, so a secure, wood, privacy fence will be a must for her. Please visit resqac.com for more pics and how to adopt.

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-27-00504Baron (male)

Cavalier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Baron is an extremely sweet, but very shy, Cavalier mix who came from a hoarding situation. The dogs were forced to live in piled up feces in a small travel trailer, and were left to their own devices, their owner mentally ill and feeding and watering them when she remembered. Of course, all were not altered and breeding was uncontrolled. Baron was not socialized properly to humans, thus his shyness around people. But he has come a long way since we've had him. He will need a kind, patient owner who can provide a quiet, safe and secure home. Another dog who is confident and not shy, would be a plus to help him see that the world might ... Rescue Me ID: 14-02-16-00395Jack (male)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jack is a very sweet little boy who has had some terrible trauma in his life. Jack was either used as a bait dog or was in a dog fight and left to his own devices to heal. We think he was also physically abused by a person. Jack was running loose for several days, terrified and not letting anyone get near him. Our volunteer, Sheila, was finally able to coax this boy into letting her get near him and is now fostering him. Jack was covered with several bite wounds, some new, some older. Lots of infection and swelling. But with good care Sheila has healed this boy's physical wounds; she is doing a good job of healing the psychological ... (Read More)wounds, but that will take time and patience. Jack loves to sleep on the bed and is very food motivated. He will need a quiet household and someone who can see past the pain and be gentle with him. He can be very frightened around people he doesn't know, but with a gentle touch, quiet voice and neck rubbing he melts and his eyes soften. He is afraid, at first, of new dogs especially large dogs. Great with cats. If you think you can provide Jack with the loving, patient care he needs, please contact us via email or phone, or fill out our online application at resqac.com. Jack weighs about 10 lbs and is 2 years old. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-01-00323Xena (female)

Abyssinian    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Cats, Not Good w/ Dogs, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This gorgeous and exotic purebred Abyssinian came to us from horrible circumstances and we have had her and 3 other related cats for over a year. These poor babies were forced to live in tiny cages, stacked one on top of the other and never cleaned. As you could imagine they came to us with some serious health issues, but nothing that couldn't be cured with medication, proper diet, and a clean environment. This girl probably suffered the most but as you can see now, she is happy and healthy. Xena is about 3 to 4 years old, very friendly and sweet but if you know the breed, they can be quite active, almost wild in nature sometimes. Zena ... (Read More)resembles a miniature cougar, with that lithe, muscular body structure. Anyone who adopts this precious girl will be very lucky. If you'd like to find out more about the breed, please do some research before applying. Xena is NOT good with other cats or dogs. Poodle    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Snuggles is a gorgeous 18 month old mini poodle (with a tail). He's on the larger side for a mini, about 20 lbs. and tall - he looks more like a small standard. He is super sweet, very cuddly and loves everyone - that's how he got his name. Snuggles would do well with an active family, he is very energetic and will need lots of exercise. He doesn't do well with other male dogs but would love a female doggie companion. Snuggles definitely needs obedience and socialization training, as he can be somewhat aggressive to other dogs while on a leash. Please visit resqac.com for more info and pics.

Choo Choo is an extremely cute, or 'so ugly he's cute' type of dog, depending on your attitude! He's a super friendly little Chorkie who is an unusual chocolate in color. He's about 1 year. old and weighs a whopping 4.5 lbs. He's very puppy-like, but is a special needs little guy: he has a slight neurological deficit that results in minor head movements and deafness. We don't know what the cause might be as he was rescued from a shelter, but he has been examined by a vet and pronouced adoptable.
